Veronica Golden, Educational Leadership Combined School Building Leader/School District Leader (SBL/SDL) , C.A.S.
I, Veronica Golden, feel that I am qualified to represent my cohort in the Educational Leadership SBL/SDL program because I have various work and volunteer experiences that have prepared me. As a school employee, I know what some of the needs are in the school building. In the past, I have also worked at City Hall and been a member of the Erie County Youth board among other things. I believe it's important to have our voices represented and have opportunities' available to us that enhance our professional growth. I am passionate about youth and education but also passionate about having the tools to thrive on our professional career journey. Please vote for me!
Itoko Kobayashi, Adult Education, M.S.
As a graduate student of Adult Education Program at Buffalo State SUNY, I believe myself worthy to nominate myself as a senator of its Graduate Student Association. One reason of this decision is enforced by my past graduate and academic experiences in History department of Sophia University Graduate School in Japan. Even though I might not have enough experiences as an academia in the United States for past 20 years and more, the familiarities of academic ethics, morals, and societies themselves might help to enhance the understandings of American academia, which is important for the responsibilities of a senator. Also, the opportunities of senator will give me the chances to improve and deepen our knowledge and understanding by facing individual and complexed academic realities. We share our diverse and global knowledge to expand our graduate school campus through intellectually integrated activities. Even though my current academic area, Adult Education, focuses different subjects and research objectives from those of European History (Medieval), we might realize and analyze our current social issues for the further and better improved campus community. We might realize the pleasure to share and discuss local and global information, which have facets of differences and similarities depending on individuality for present and future academic research and educational activities. From my past and current experiences as a graduate student at Sophia University and Buffalo State SUNY, I notice with surprise, and even fun, the various understandings and interpretations on the similar academic subjects and themes, which encourage me to continue my learning activities for further developments with my peers, faculty, and other stakeholders of campus. As an online student, the relationships with other peers of graduate association might improve the involvement of campus life. I believe this participation will create friendly and cordial connections with other members of graduate school. Also, my experience as a personal assistant of a professor at Tokyo International University, who was a fatherly dean, would help me for better operational running of association to encourage and strengthen the academic path of each student. Besides the knowledge and skills, which have attained through the learning activities to receive the microcredentials, which are Grant Writing, Instructional Designs, Online Learning, from Buffalo State SUNY, reassure and encourage me to involve the student association. Anything more, from my experience as a sole proprietor of my business, the Space Waraku, I believe myself that I can manage the practical aspects of association by building the stronger relationship and connection with community members. Through the instructional and cultural sharing with other academic members, we can create better educational circumstances which enable us to enrich and enchant mutually for healthier and more beneficial learning activities.
